About Cliff House

The building was given in trust for the benefit of the people of Salcombe and to provide accommodation for the Yacht Club, which occupies the tower end of the building.

'Save Cliff House' was our initial capital campaign to deal with the remedial works urgently necessary to restore the fabric of the building to a sound condition. We are now moving to the next stage to restore other parts of the building to its former glory. For more information please click here.

In addition to this, Cliff House has made some significant improvements and additions to the facilities it can offer, and has already installed a new cinema-sized screen which can be used for community events and conferences. During May the Assembly Room was redecorated to restore it to the original Edwardian elegance. Other improvements will also be made to the ground floor area and terrace to better facilitate local events, weddings, parties and conferences.

Already one of the most popular wedding venues in Devon, and for hosting numerous other celebrations, conferences and functions; these improvements aim to further increase bookings to generate sufficient annual income to enable on-going maintenance and ensure the building remains in excellent condition into the future.

By booking Cliff House for your seaside wedding, celebration or conference venue you are doing much more than enjoying a beautiful venue in awe-inspiring surroundings. You will be helping to support the upkeep and restoration of an Edwardian property, allowing it to be treasured by visitors to Devon and the Salcombe community for years to come.
