The building was given in trust for the benefit of the people of Salcombe and to provide accommodation for the Yacht Club, which occupies the tower end of the building.

'Save Cliff House' is our initial capital campaign and will be entirely to deal with the remedial works to restore the fabric of the building to a sound condition. For more information please click here.

In addition to this Cliff House is currently in the middle of a programme of improvements and has already a new big screen (cinema size) installed which it is planned to use for community events and conferences. During the month of May the Assembly Room will be redecorated to restore it to the original Edwardian elegance. Other improvements will also be made to the ground floor area and terrace to better facilitate local events, weddings, parties and conferences. Already a popular venue for weddings and private functions; these improvements aim to increase bookings to generate sufficient annual income to enable on-going maintenance and ensure the building remains in excellent condition into the future
